iOS 14 Beta 4 Follow Up Review - Bugs and Battery" Andios 14 beta 4 has been out for well a few days depending on whether ornot you're using the developer beta or the public beta which are identical theyhave the same build number i've been using it on my iphone 11 promax also my 12.9 inch ipad pro from 2020 these are my two main devices i alsohave it on the original iphone se and the iphone 7. so i wanted to talkabout how it's been for me how it's been for youwe'll take a look at the youtube community poll and quite a few peoplehave very different opinions on this particular beta as compared to previous betasso this one is great for some buggy for others so let's talk about the issues i've had then the is sues you've had and so thefirst thing is the issues i've had seem to be moretouch related than anything i've had weird delays when i turn on thescreen touching the screen seems to delay it when i'm trying to turn it onand then finally it will turn on if i use the power button it seems to be alittle bit quicker sometimes you'll see it's very strangeand sometimes i need to restart it to get this to work properlyso that's the main issue i'm having that and touch responsivenessi think they're all related but that's the issue i'm actually having with thisparticular one now also the first time i opened thenotes app the new pop-up came up that told me about thenew features and my keyboard showed up here and i couldn't get past that screenwithout actually closing the application and going back inover and over and over so the first time i opened notes.

I got that new dialog orpop-up and the continue button was under thekeyboard so i couldn't touch it and so i actually had to close theapplication multiple times and then go back in to get it to worki know quite a few of you had the same issue so someone said they had thatissue it took them three tries to get past that so it will work but just keeptrying so that's a weird bug and make sure to report it in thefeedback app wherever it is on my phone here it's here somewhere but either waymake sure you report it if you're having that issue also it justhas some lag from time to time so i haven't had any issues withapplications photos anything like that but i have had those lag issuesand some people are seeing issues with say the clock showing the correct timeyou'll see here it's not showing the correct time but that's three hoursbehind so it actually is kind of okay just make sure it's set to your regionbut the weather doesn't update in real time sometimes for peopleand so i'm seeing that as well but it's okay for me right nownow the issues most of you are saying you're having are similarissues with maybe the widget's not working properly you can see on theiphone 7 it's not working properly the reminders widget just doesn't showdata properly and i've tried it a few different waysand it doesn't seem to work properly sometimes it pops up sometimes itdoesn't so there's issues with widgets ingeneral and in fact i think apple's leaving themselves wide open for futureopportunities because widgets don't update in realtime they actually just check every whatever seconds you you set it to itcould be every five seconds it could be every 30 minutes it's up to the designerof the widget so that's something to note also manypeople are seeing app crashes now i've had issues with banking apps for examplebut many people are having issues with say call of duty mobile pokemon goinstagram banking apps i haven't had any issueswith instagram crashing but i know a lot of people that areand call of duty mobile just won't play it doesn't work on my ipad here eitherso i actually have it here if i open it up it just crashes everytime so you can see that again if i open that up it will crash everysingle time so i don't know what's going on with that but it's definitely anissue and so hopefully it's fixed in beta 5but it's again again it's a beta and it's not out to the public yetso the app developers will have to update their apps as wellnow many people are reporting issues with the camera i haven't seen thismyself i can snap photos no problem whatever i want to do it seems to workokay but some people are having major camera issues where it just won'twork properly it crashes they can't use it or anything else alsomany people are saying the keyboard is unresponsiveso where i was having issues with trying to get past the keyboard some people arejust saying it doesn't work properly at all so itseems to work okay for me but many people are having issueswith it also other than lags and things like i mentioned people are havinglagging freezing and i'm seeing this more andmore based off the community poll and i'll share with share.

The phone kind of rebooting:

That with you in a moment a few people are having issues with respring so the phone kind of rebooting on its ownand also there's a few people saying air pods don't work when connected andyou're making a phone call so it's a pretty crucial application of airpods and it's not working for quite a few peopleso that's sort of disappointing for a lot of people and somost of the time a hard reboot will fix that so for example on an iphone 11 promax that's volume up volume down press andhold the power button until the phone reboots and then you'llbe back in once it reboots it will work properly and usually the issues i'mhaving will be fixed as well i have had to hardreboot it a couple times but the interesting thing is there's quite a fewpeople that say it's fantastic it's the best betaso it seems to be very 50 50 that 50 percentsay it's terrible 50 say it's fantastic but again we'll take a look at the pollin just a moment now on older devices most people aresaying that performance is fantastic so on the iphone s e most people are sayingit's very responsive when it's not giving lag or having any issuesso you'll see again i can open the camera quickly maybe go into musicgo back out maybe go into the clock here and everything just seems to work okayon the older devices that includes the iphone 7. i know somepeople were having issues specifically with the 7 in the past but in in generalit seems to be okay so again if we go into things like theapp store we'll let it load for a moment and once it's loaded it should be okayand fairly smooth so it's really weird some people areseeing such jarring contrast as far as that goesagain no issues with the camera for me so i don't know if it's a specific setof apps people have installed some other apps people are trying butthen again my other main used device is my ipad proand so my ipad pro here seems to be good for the most part but again i have thoseweird touch responsive issues so here i have the weather which is niceto have but it opens up the weather and touching the display issometimes okay sometimes it's not and it doesn'trespond properly sometimes like i said i can't play games like callof duty on the ipad and others are reporting similar issuesnow i'm not too bothered by this since this is a betabut it is something to note so i don't ever recommend someone not update to abeta and that's because that's sort of our duty as beta testers is to reportbugs through the feedback app so you want to make sure you report themthrough the feedback app let apple know and then hopefully we'll see a new onesoon so as far as a new one coming out wellios 14 beta 5 i would expect that probably in a weekor so it's hard to say exactly what apple's going to do so in the past youcan see here on the left are the days that they've actually released betaswith ios 12 and ios 13. so based on that we may have to waitanother week so i guess.

Need to do critical thingson:

If you need to do critical thingson your phone then don't update but generally i always say update becausewell it's sort of something we offer in return so we get new features we offerfeedback that sort of thing but if it's crucial to you thenmaybe you should wait so based on that maybe we won't see an update this comingweek but it will be another week but again apple can change this at any timein fact i already thought apple would release ios 13.6.1 to deviceswith 13.6 since there's some bugs and maybe some securityissues so maybe we could see that this week butbased on what they've done in the past if it's not released this week i'll befairly surprised by that so maybe ios 13.6.1 this weekand then beta 5 the following week but again apple can changeit at any time they could release two in a week orwait three weeks it's up to them what they do and they don't actually have aset schedule so i'm just basing it off previous datathat we've had in the past now battery life on ios 14 beta 4 isat least it feels like it's better than it was with beta 3 for meso let's take a look at that if we go into settings go down to batterylet's take a look at battery health and you'll see my battery health is at 96percent and battery health does not go down justby doing a beta or installing a beta it's actually rechecking the physicalhealth of the battery inside the phone all batteries degrade over time and it'sjust letting you know what it's at so 80 after two years is normal if wetake a look at the last 10 days you'll see that i've used myphone up to about 50 battery life so if we take a look atyesterday i had 4 hours and 34 minutes of screen on time2 hours and 37 minutes of screen off time since i only used 50of my battery.

About 9 hours of screen on time:

If i was to use 100 percent i'd get about 9 hours of screen on time while that's not what i was getting withios 13.6 i was getting closer to 10 to 12 hours it does seem tobe better than the previous beta as you can see herewhere i used between 50 and 75 of my battery life and i didn't even get fourhours of screen on time so again if we take a look at theprevious beta beta 3 i used a little over 50 percent andstill got less battery life so it's not greatly improved but it'sdefinitely a little bit better for me some people are saying that it's bettersome people are saying that it's worse and quite a few are just saying it'sabout the same but again it's an early beta so don't expect them to work verymuch on battery life until closer to the final releaselater this year in the fall now here's all of the issues that many of youmentioned so you can see 84 of you mentioned batterythis is based on the comments that you left on the youtube community pollonly a few people are mentioning heat 25 of you are mentioningfreezing and lagging like i said so i've seen this quite a bitmany people are saying that most people are saying there's no issues withwi-fi lte bluetooth or mail but occasionally the bluetooth complaintsare more around airpods or connected headphones if they're having issuesand the only thing i've noticed is sometimes it doesn't connect to my carthat uses bluetooth and occasionally it takes a little bit longer than itnormally would and then it just works so most of the time i don't have any issuesnow here are all the devices you're using according to the youtube communitypoll and i'm pretty surprised to see howpopular some of these devices are but it seems a huge majority of you are using11 pro maxes and quite a few of you are using iphone11s as well so if you'd like to see the iphone 11 in more videos let me know inthe comments below now let's take a look at the youtubecommunity poll now the community poll has been out forover 24 hours and you can see 13 000 people voted so i really appreciateeveryone that voted and based on this only eighteen percentare saying beta four is great five percent are saying it's terriblethat's actually higher than last time so if we go backmaybe to the previous poll you'll see three percent said it was terriblein this poll five percent said it was terrible and 19say that you have bugs so 24 are having issues with itas opposed to about 21 in the previous beta somore people do seem to be having issues based on thatbut 44 percent of you have not updated and14 of you are using android so again i appreciate everyone that voted on thislet's take a look at some of the comments there's 512 commentsand i've read just about every one any that are just new i haven't read butother than that i've read all of them and that's how.

I compiled the data fromearlier now let's take a look at some of thembrahmi says hello i'm on iphone 11 pro max and here's what i've beenexperiencing delayed multi-touch feedback camera appnot working at all quicktime player freezes in safari ihaven't seen the quicktime bug myself pheasant said i've had a couple ofrandom resprings and app crashes ones that have never crashed before i stillhave issues with wi-fi connectivity since beta 1 and i have to keep togglingairplane mode to reset the modules iphone 11. akshat kombavi says thebattery life of beta 3 wasn't up to the mark but on beta 4 it'sback to excellent but frequent app crashes even themessages app doesn't open quickly but overall manageable and iapologize if i don't say all the names properly but kartik sayshaving great experience a lot of battery improvements and smoothersespecially in ipad os and no issues including widgets so faronly issue is ipad as call of duty game crashes on launchbattery might be still improved anyways this is a betaernie lopez says my camera was spazzing out my airpods pro have issuesconnecting to a call had the same issue on beta 3 my messagescrashed from time to time using beta on the iphone 10s max tiernanflynn says battery life is awful and performance ismediocre at best on my iphone 8 plus 128 gigabyte the jess says i'm using theiphone 11 pro max and the update is pretty okay so farseptee and patterson says i've thoroughly enjoyed it on my se2016. unlocking the phone is really fast no crashes or lagsdoesn't even feel like a beta apple is doing an excellent job at refining theirsoftware deuce may says notes keeps on crashingevery time i edit the text color iphone 10. eric skoog says running on aniphone 11 pro max no real issue so far and battery lifehas been fine one issue i found is that the inputoption on facebook messenger disappears occasionallydisappears zion turner says i'm not sure if i said that right so i apologizepretty much perfect on my 10s max 3d touch is back and no app crasheseverything is smooth so far depaul gandhi saysusing on iphone 10 messages widgets are very buggybattery drain is horrible much improvements needed martin 10 hoopsays much better battery life on my iphone 11 pro than on the previous betasa few apps are not working properly but other than that no issuesuncle jerry 50th says lots of app crashing and autocorrect still seemssuper unreliable for some reason widgets don't always populate correctlylike the news widget loading blank running on the iphone 10 and ipad pro2018. ian says i'm using it on my iphone 10rand overall it's been pretty stable a few glitches here and there overall ithas been very stable i'll read a couple more christinacopeland says i'm using it on an 11 pro and it's beengreat so far donald rieby says iphone 10r running ios 14 beta 4just some bugs otherwise pretty good battery and performance is goodkeyboard doesn't work right when is ios 14 coming to the public.
