Now this data or these files are kept in your cache memory are meant to improve and make your experience using the apps smoother and faster. But sometimes, the cache memory gets clogged up with too much information and your phone starts getting sluggish and slow. And you might need to clear cache memory on one or all of your applications on your Android device. And so here's how to do it,
- Go to Settings on your Android device.
- And then find storage. Now, different Android devices with different skins on top of Android have a slightly different settings menu. So you might go an extra two or three steps, or even one or two steps less to get to storage.
- Since I'm using my Samsung Galaxy J seven Pro, to Clear Android Cache, Which means it's a Samsung software on top of Android edit,
- oh, I just go to settings. And then I'll go to Device maintenance.
- And then I'll tap on storage to get to storage. Now on the storage page, you can see the space occupied by documents, images, audio, video, and most importantly, apps.
- And that's what we want to focus on. So tap on apps to see a list of all the applications installed on your Android device.
Now from the list of applications, you can be able to choose one application that you may be suspect is hogging all the memory. Browsers are usually suspect for this. But also the Facebook applications are notorious for keeping a lot of data in the cache memory.
So for example, I'll select Facebook Messenger. And that will open for me the Facebook Messenger app info page, where I can see all the information I might need to see about the Facebook Messenger app on my phone.
Now tap on storage. And you'll see the way messenger or the way the Facebook messenger application uses your storage. So as you can see right here, the app itself is 95 megabytes, the data is at 1.24 megabytes, and that's the app data.
And then the cache data is surprisingly, just as little as 5.11 megabytes. Now to clear this cache memory, simply tap on clear cache, and that will be cleared right there. And that's how to clear cache. Now you can do this for every other application that you think is having or storing a lot of data in the cache memory.
